Aww that totaly sucks :(. There's never a good time to do these sorts of things, but just before Christmas has to be the worst. |

I've just gone through the same thing. Two colleagues on one of the teams I work for have been promoted and *everyone* is pissed off because, as much as we wanted them to get the promotions (they're very well-deserved) we *really* don't want to lose these guys - they're both incredibly knowledgeable and hard-working, as well as being good friends. It's especially tough for me because one of them is the only other LGBT person in the office. Since Oscar (the much-loved office mascot) died two weeks ago (he was 18 - well over 120 in dog years) the last day before Christmas has not been a happy one. |
