I think that the management at Sainsbury's have gone mad! Today I went into the Kettering branch and while I could find most of what I wanted, it was all in absurdly large packaging. For instance, I wanted 150ml soured cream but the smallest available was 300ml, I wanted a packet of cornflour but the smallest (only) size was 500g and I wanted some fresh parsley but the amount was absurdly large. I also wanted loose bacon, so I could buy only three or four rashers but there was no loose unsmoked streaky bacon. In the end I went to customer services and told them that I was putting everything back (except Sainsbury's own brand Cream Crackers) and going to Morrisons. That was a good decision. Not only did they have packaged goods in sensible sizes but they also had loose unsmoked bacon at the butcher's counter and everything else that I bought was cheaper than at Sainsbury's except for the cucumber portion that cost the same (40p). |
