A topic from Whingeing Fkwits: Work & Money

What is it with people these days?

My firm is going through some changes, and to add to the workload we're a key member of staff down, who left and hasn't been replaced yet. This is leading to a certain amount of stress and angst in the workplace.

As office manager I've voiced my concerns to the directors and to the business consultants they've hired to oversee the changes. So the best we can do is to grin and bear it for the time being until we get another person in the replace that one that left. I've asked staff to be patient in the meantime and have assured them that improvements are on the way.

Unfortunately some people still think the best way of dealing with a stressful situation is to jump down their colleagues' throats and act in a very rude and unpleasant manner. As though losing your temper at the slightest provocation makes things better! I think not.

I'm sick of trying to break up petty squabbles between grown men and women who act like friggin' five year olds.

I'm thinking of chucking it in, and going to work in a nursery school. I've got plenty of experience of dealing with childish attitudes.
