So today I had a job interview, for a rather interesting looking new project. The interview went OK, I may get the job, but it wasn't brilliant, so I'm not sure.

As I'm relatively new, I've only just completed the first yearly appraisal cycle, so couldn't submit them with the application form in March. I hoped to be able to take it with me to the interview today. Unfortunately my boss scheduled it for a day when he should have known I wasn't in the office (he rarely records when we are or aren't in, even if we give him lots of notice, put it in writing, blah blah blah), so it happened a week late - last week to be specific. And he still hasn't written it up. So, I get to the interview, and they ask if it's possible to have it faxed or e-mailed to them by midday Friday, when they finish interviewing the other two candidates, as they're making the decision Friday afternoon.

So, I gallop back to work, having called the office to be told his out in a meeting, but should be back later in the day. I leave him a text and a voicemail on his workphone asking him to call me. He doesn't, I get into work.

Then our workflow manager gets back in, to say our boss isn't coming back in at all now. And isn't in tomorrow either. And he might have done my appraisal, but she doesn't know. There's nothing on his desk, and his line manager has also gone home so I don't know if it's been passed over for counter-signatures.

So I'm now in the situation where I either call or text my boss's personal mobile to see if there's anything I can get sorted when both of us aren't here (bearing in mind I'm not supposed to know his personal mobile phone number and he's likely to be pissed that I do), or take the risk of not submitting my appraisal, which I have to admit is a pretty fucking good appraisal.

Goddamnit!
