Does anyone believe in the psychology that pricing an item at £99.99 fools them into thinking it's anything but £100 with a penny off? |

I think originally it was to stop people working in shops from pocketing the money, since they would have to ring it through the till to give change. Obviously, that's pretty much obsolete now, but it seems to have persisted. |
