What is it with people that can't walk in a bloody straight line?!

I'm noticing it more and it's irritating me more in the last few months as they're working on Exhibition Road in SW7 where I work and the pavement area is greatly reduced to the width of two people walking side-by-side.

I'm quite a fast walker and it seems whenever I want to overtake someone, they drift in front of me, and then drift back the other way when I shift over.

Also annoying is couples walking holding hands down this narrow bit of pavement who refuse to let go of each other's hands and expect you to walk sideways or press yourself up against the wall so they can pass. I just stop dead and force them to walk in single file.

Grrrrr!

Pedestrian Drift sounds like a dull console racing game.
