Hey everyone,

I know that this issue has been discussed before and you may have already signed a petition or such like, but as nothing has changed regarding British gay men being eligible to give blood, BloodBan.co.uk has been launched to raise awareness of the 'gay blood ban' and petition the NHS to review its policy later this year.

The NHS blood donor select committee has confirmed to us that one of the topics that it will be reviewing later this year is a review on the current ban on gay men giving blood, once a new advisory panel is in place. To ensure that this policy review is given priority, we're trying to get as many signatures as possible on the petition at http://www.bloodban.co.uk - so please help by signing today!

Did you also know that we're so low on blood stocks that the NHS is importing blood from Australia - where gay men ARE allowed to donate - so it seems like only British gay blood is banned!

Well done (stuart_knight) had you not posted this i may never of know about the campaign. I have just sent a massive email to all my friends gay & straight to ask for their support and to sign the petition.

Please keep us updated if you are following this isssue through.
