photoSo it's October already... Hello there, thanks for dropping by my profile. I've updated my writings section, so you'll find out a bit more about me there. Only two pay packets until Christmas now - where does the time go when you're not looking?

I'm going to see MIKA at the Brixton Academy on Tuesday. Put aside the fact that many people would rather attack their nads with an industrial staple gun that listen to MIKA - I really like him...

Anyway, I bought two tickets from seetickets.com ages ago and they still had not shown up as of Friday.

I phoned See and they said the tickets had been posted by Royal Mail Special Delivery the day before. I told them that was very nice, but I hadn't received them. They went away and checked and said that they had been signed for. Again, very nice, but not by me.

They went away again and said that they could not tell who had signed for them and it would take "several days" to find out that information.

I asked what the score was with the gig being on Tuesday and they said "Well, the tickets are irreplacable that's why we send them Royal Mail Special Delivery" so you can't go if they don't turn up - and we can't give you a refund because they have been signed for"

The fact they were not signed for BY ME seems to make no difference to the situation.

In the end I bought the ticketss again on ebay at a vastly inflated price. Normally I would not have bothered but got a friend coming from Glasgow specifically to go to the gig so would be pretty horrible to say to him - sorry no tickets.

Perhaps if See posted their ticket more than 30 seconds before the gig was due these problems could be avoided - but at the moment I am without tickets and without prospect of refund. I'm certain that's legally not enforcable under the distance selling directive and the onus is on them to prove to me they provided the "service" - in this case the tickets - but not sure I can be bothered with it all.

I swear the person at See i spoke to is some close relation to the fictional Carol Beer from Little Britain.

So, my advice would be to avoid seetickets.com or at the very least chase them miles ahead of time.
