I want to say I was raised in the 1980's above a Soho Strip joint by Beryl Reid and Quentin Crisp. I want to say that everything I've learnt about life was taught to me by Video Nasties and MTV. I want to say that gallant men across the land seek my embrace and fight duels for my favour.

Domestic bliss this end. Not.

As our housemate a.k.a Richie Rich has just completed on the house that his parents have bought him me and the wife have been pushed into the position where we've had to hand our notice in on the house we are currently living in.

Now for one reason and another we now have three weeks to find somewhere new and move out.

So far all the property we've seen has either been large and grotty or lovely but minuscule.

And that's where the problem arises. The wife seems happy to live somewhere tatty round the edges but large. I would prefer somewhere nice and clean - I'm less bothered about size.

In a rather terse exchange I've just told her I don't really want to live in Student accommodation anymore since it's been over 10 years since I was last a student!

None of this is being helped by the fact that Richie Rich keeps on coming home to tell us how fabulous his new house is bearing in mind that less than a week ago he was practically on the edge of a nervous breakdown at the thought of us not handing in our notice quick enough. He was very worried about being too poor to be able to pay the extra month to give us time to look.

(Can I just add he is going on holiday to New York for a week next week.)

All in all I am starting to feel very tense.
