I have a tendancy to phone up The Geoff Show on Virgin Radio, when pissed, and get on air.

Indeed, I've failed at most of the major competitions on there, but finally, a few weeks ago, I managed to win one. Without cheating. Honest.

I was told I had won 3 BBC DVDs, including The Time Warrior - the classic Doctor Who Sarah Jane first appeared in, and something from Iwantoneofthose.com which I think is a frame for vinyl art...

So I get a knock at the door this morning, and I get given an envelope containing 3 DVDs. Yaaaaay. First up is Victoria's Empires. Very nice. Not thrilling, but very nice. Second up is some comedy called The Robinsons starring Martin Freeman. Ok, I think, open mind...

Yay! Doctor Who! But hang on, it's the latest series. The one with the Daleks. I'm going to buy the box set next month! This doesn't even have Sarah Jane in it! This is not what I was promised!! *Sob*

And I wonder where my vinyl frame is??? Maybe it's coming later. I hope so. Hope it hasn't been forgotten.

But it's hard to be cross with The Geoff Show. And to be fair, I give it a week before I'm phoning up pissed as a fart again....

Google is my friend.

I hate radio stations that fail to follow through on the prize front.

Then again, I prefer to get product direct from the majors, pluggers or (shock horror!) just buy my own choice of shit!

If I write to complain, and write a proper letter instead of an e-mail, I get a home made Geoff Show badge made with the finest Badge Machine 20 quid can get you at Argos.

I like phoning The Geoff Show too but I've never got on. I'm probably not drunk enough and I don't do drugs.

I don't listen to AM stations.

And before anyone smart says anything to the contrary, please remember that I'm living in Northern Ireland and Virgin Radio tx is only on AM here.

I seem to have got on loads.

I've done the shitting forecast, drunk verses stoned (I lost - I was walking home after my work leaving do and despite being a dr who fan sice I was five couldn't put the first 3 in order), have listened to the Dirty Book at Bedtime whilst standing next to Baroness Thatcher in the House of Lords (a feat recorded on the Geoff Show Website), have had a couple of podcast dedications and a couple of weeks ago won Dead of the Night, without the help of Wikipedia, honest guv. I think I got on something on the old Pete and Geoff Breakfast show too. According to Geoff on my Facebook Wall I'm the stuff of legend.

This may be the gin talking though. Off the air, Annabel Port called me 'entertaining' but I think she might have secretly been laughing at my drunkenness.

It is on Freeview, Channel 727, and the transmission quality for Freeview radio is better than that for DAB. You can also get it on Sky.

I listen on DAB and sometimes on Freeview.
