Apologies if I've missed them.

I've been reading many of the posts in different groups, also looking through the Forum Lists. Although I have seen posts in which members mention sick partners etc. I can't find any specific groups used for communal support, my interest would be in a Forum for those who have lost partners, or are going to lose a partner.

This type of Forum would seem to fit in with the ethos of the site.

Well there is Support->Relationships and Support->Family Issues. I think both of them would do.

Although I notice Support->Bereavement is missing

I take your point about about the fact that both groups could be used for support, but they are very general.

I avoided both these groups after reading the content of posts, the kind of exchanges I'd anticipate would seem a bit out of place with "help my sister name her baby etc."

I was thinking of more specific groups, it may be that there is no demad on this site for what I had in mind.

As someone who supported and cared for a terminaly ill partner for 5 years I searched for support and found very little. We were told by the support nurse at the hospital that we would not be welcome at the normal support group. I'm sure I'm not alone in the experience of isolation during this difficult time.

And with a serious health problem since my partners death I have found it equally difficult, if you attend a group you cant actually discuss life, only the bits they find acceptable.

If anybody knows of any other sites that offer what I'm suggesting I would like to hear of them.
