A topic from OUT Website: Positive and Encouraging Stories

This nearly ended up as WingFkwts, did a really long post, click post and it vanished Grrrrrr

Breath, and again!

In recent months I have posted both as myself and as Anon! about how lonely and depressed I get, I was Billy no Friends. One OUTer even suggested I should leave the site (sweet). Well I felt this place is for me and I like it.

Now I find all the effort and heartache of the last few months is paying off, I'm not Billy no Friends anymore, in fact I'm starting to have a great time!

This weekend has marked a turning point for me in more way's than one.

My weekend with OUT!

SATURDAY

On Saturday I arranged to meet up with an OUTer in London, was nervous but always willing to make the effort and try.

Turned out to be a great day, we chatted endlessly and I did something I never thought I would, I went on the London Eye, small thing to some of you. I would never have don't it on my own, virtigo would have put me off on it's own. But the queuing and all those people would have been to much.

I enjoyed it more than I can believe, and when the first batch of photo's are approved you can take a look We went for a meal afterwards and chatted even more (I think I almost got picked up as well, but thats another story).

We then went on a river trip, my OUTer friend had never been on one so it was a first for him, it was fun and my camera worked overtime.

Then we went for another meal, and chatted more, it was a great day all round.

Sad when the time came but I had to head home back to Birmingham.

Even the fire at Cambden that shut down Euston station did not dampen the day, I eventually got home at 2am which made Sunday difficult, but was determined to do Sunday.

Amazing thing about getting out and about, me Mr shy who talks to nobody and reads his book, I'm known as man with book in my Gay local.

When a train finally arrived at Euston there was a Stampede and I mean Stampede, hundreds of tired and pissed off passengers ran for the train to get a seat, I was in the middle of them. I can't believe I managed to be the third person on the train, my heart was pumping like mad and I couldn't breath (my cardiologist would have been so proud of me). I sat down and a young women sat opposite me, also out of breath.

We both got out our books (see, I'm not the only boring one), we commented on the delays, this developed into a 2 hour conversation. Me who talks to nobody sat and chatted to a complete stranger for 2 whole hours.

I got home at 2am, I was still in the precess of arranging a Sunday meeting with another OUTer, finally sorted that by 4am.

SUNDAY

Well went and met another OUTer, I had a bloody marvalous day, lots of chat, a meal and lots more chat.

I truely enjoyed meeting and chatting with this outer, it seems we can connect with people once we all stop rushing round and simply enjoy the company.

Well it is now Sunday night, I am bloody knackered, but I have had a great weekend, I already have another meeting set for Friday Evening and Saturday this coming week.

And am already arranging another trip to London to meet the same OUTer, and have talked to another OUTer about meeting up in London.

My Dance Card is now interfering with my working ours of 24/7, it would seem my company are going to have to get used to LoneStar not being available as much as he has always been.

Thank you OUT, and OUTers for setting me on the right road, I look forward to meeting as many outer as possible in the time ahead.

When I bought my life Membership it was because I truly thought this was the place to be, although at that time I only had contact with a couple of people. Now I know it's the place to be and thank God I'm here to enjoy it.

Next month is the anniversary of my Partners death, I was dreading facing it alone again this year, I don't feel that I will be now as I have so many people around me.
