Private torrents - file transfers

Anybody have any ideas about what's the best way to transfer large files from one Windows 7 PC to another?

I have occasion to send my mother large files occasionally - scans, videos, etc and I'm looking for a "can't break it" way for her to get these files.

I was wondering if there was some way for me to set up a private torrent or something like that? She could just click on the torrent file that I could email her, and the Bit Torrent client could do all the rest - including resuming a download at a later time.

Is that possible or is there a better solution?

A link will be sent to your email, then download it on the other computer.

If not use a external hard drive.

It doesn't support resuming though, does it?

The problem is that my mother often doesn't want to download it in one go on her far slower broadband.
