I wonder when it's next going to rain.

A topic from Science & Nature: Weather

I've actually forgotten the last time there was significant rainfall. Everything around Bath is really dry, though there's still enough water in the earth to keep plants green.

There's one very good effect of this dry weather. My grass seems to have stopped growing. Also, I like the fact that the footpaths have dried out earlier than usual. Around here they are usually muddy until late May or early June.

The forecast for the next week looks as if it will continue warm and sunny. Is it the same throughout the UK?

Tomorrow should be a dry and another very warm day, although there is an increasing risk of a few sharp downpours, maybe a rumble of thunder too, although these showers will be well scattered.

There is a cold front moving south from the northwest on Monday, although the front itself has little rain on it, it may induced ahead of it and on it one or two heavy showers as it travels southwards into the heat and humidity; temperatures will fall behind the front but will still be above average temperatures. Next week we will see temperatures around 14 to 18 degrees, although there are signs that temperatures may fall further towards the tail end of the week as we get a bit of a northwesterly airflow, in some places a stark drop in temperature.

This above site has some good info on it,

A somewhat chilly change to the weather over the next few days as high pressure builds to the West of the UK introducing a North-westerly then Northerly airstream.

The change happens on Monday as a rogue frontal system pushes East across all parts. Behind this, pressure starts to rise and the shift in wind direction starts.

During the middle part of the week, low pressure rattles across Northern areas bringing heavy rain, but as the low pushes across to Scandinavia the wake will drag in colder air will push South.

The coldest of the weather will be restricted to the East at the end of the week where ground frosts are likely, perhaps sleet and snow showers across mountains in Scotland too for a time.

Elsewhere, it will simply be a return to normal April temperatures, but even so, after a warm weekend, the change will feel a little nippy for all of us.

Slightly further ahead and high pressure returns across the Continent... a sign of things to come this Summer perhaps.
