I was in London again on Wednesday, and as I usually do I drove to Basingstoke and got the train to Waterloo. I had a one-piece ticket including travelcard.

I was around zone 1 all day and then late afternoon I was leaving Paddington to see a client who lives just around the corner from there. The barrier wouldn't open for me so I had to be let through by the staff.

Just as I'd walked through the client sent a text asking to meet at his business premises which are 50 yards from Royal Oak station. Seeing as I was carrying a heavy bag I thought I'd do the one stop by H&C (which was a mistake as there was a bout a 20 min gap in service!). As I tried to re-enter the barrier wouldn't let me through again, and on returning from my client the same thing happened yet again, but it worked perfectly well at Royal Oak and later that evening at other stations.

Has anyone else had problems with the H&C barriers at Paddington?
