There have been many threads on OUT talking about popular notion of how anyone on the planet can be connected to any other person through a chain of six people, which means that no one is a stranger for long.

This belief is used for the basis of a new drama series from the pen of J.J. Abrams (creator of Lost)...called Six Degrees. The pilot for this series aired in the States two years ago.

In tonight's hour-long series opener, six New Yorkers go about their lives without realising the impact they're having on one another. A mysterious web of coincidences will gradually draw these strangers closer, changing the course of their lives forever. Is it fate? Is there a greater force at work? What is guiding us along and connecting our lives?

The show stars Jay Hernandez (Friday Night Lights), Erika Christensen (Flightplan), Bridget Moynahan (Sex and the City), and Hope Davis (About Schmidt).

It took two years for the pilot to get shown here?

That's not a good sign....

I think (from doing a mini search on the net) that the series was only commissioned at the end of 2006...and the first season was shown last year. People seemed to enjoy the first season..so who knows.
