This year has been Annus Horribilis for me, and as such, I had discussed with a work collegue, the possibility of booking a mini winter break in Prague (I've not gone away anywhere this year, and do need the break)

Prague is one of my fave places, I've been there a good few times, although not for a couple of years, and I've got very fond memories of Prague, hence me suggesting it. He's never been there and has been keen to visit for some years, so agreed to my suggestion.

Added to this, we have both found ourselves single this year, so the trip seemed a good way to cheer us both up, and we had planned to do some sight seeing, and drinking (probs more of the drinking than sight seeing!)

I don't know this work collegue too well, and there was no hidden agenda with me suggesting a small break, as despite the fact he's a smashing bloke, he's not at all my "type", and we would deffo be going as mates, and nothing else.

All we needed to do was pick dates / hotels etc, however he's now informed me that he's very recently met a new man, and that his new man would be coming along too.

Now, I don't know whether i'ts me who has the problem, but I'm not at all keen on this idea, for a few reasons:

I suspect, at the very least, I will be playing gooseberry, especially when with a newly formed couple.

Or

I suspect the break will be driven by what they both want to do, and what they both want to see, without taking my thoughts / wishes into account

Or

I'll feel left out, as I gather they both like visiting, how can I put it, "not main stream"clubs, which isn't my cup of tea, and I'd have no interest in going to these clubs with them

In addition, I've been on a break before with other couples, and it wasn't too nice, when all the other people in the group are all couples, and I was billy no mate, no date!

Given the destination is not just down the road, and given it's not going to be a cheap break, I just wondered if it's me who has the issue / concern with this, or would anyone else be thinking twice about going away on a break with another couple, especially one whom have only just met?
