Hi,

Ok - anyone know anything about train tickets?

This weekend I'm heading down to Cornwall for a few days. I'm getting the train from Bristol down to there. However, I've got friends in Exeter that I want to meet up with - they're also going to Cornwall with me but we're planning on having lunch in Exeter first before heading on down (we can't arrive in Cornwall before 5pm because the person who we're meeting wont be there).

At Exeter the train station has gates. So, can I just get a return ticket to my final destination, still get off at Exeter for an hour or so, then get back on the train and carry on or do I need to get 2 return tickets - one from Bristol to Exeter and then one from Exeter to my final destination?

It may be cheaper to get two tickets, one to your first stop and then one onwards.

Also look at National Express coaches that do tickets for silly cheap prices!

A standard open return allows you to break your journey on either leg, but most reduced priced tickets do not allow a break in the journey, especially on the outward leg.
