My boy friend is trying to encourage me to go on holiday to Egypt. I am worried about going as I do not think it is safe for gay men. Am I being over cautious? Is the country that homophobic? |

Egypt has a very poor human rights record when it comes to gay men, though they generally imprison rather then kill so by middle-eastern standards they're actually quite liberal. |

well I'm off back there on friday for the third time...egypt doesn't really tolerate gays so to speak but you do see arab men walking hand in hand together at times! |

Was there for last Xmas in Taba heights Sinai and never experienced any homophobia. Friendly local folk and very welcoming. |
