Hairspray has won 7 Whatsonstage Awards (the only theatre awards voted for by the public) including Best Actor in a Musical (Michael Ball), Best Actress in a Musical (Leanne Jones), Best Supporting Actor in a Musical (Ben James Ellis) and Best Supporting Actress in a Musical (Tracie Bennet) and Best New Musical. For the first time the awards ceremony will be open to the public and takes place tomorrow at the Lyric Theatre. Sheridan Smith and James Cordon will host the event. |

Good for Hairspray. I really enjoyed this show, it was huge fun, and I really did come out of the theatre singing the songs. |
