So you're going to have the Cable TV box and your DVD player and Freeview? located somewhere else in the room? Not that close to the plasma screen's location.

All tellies these days are VESA compliant, which means one mount will work for all sets. Unless you're going to tunnel through the wall to fit the wires they should be tidied to one side.

Besides - all plasma tellies these days come with a freeview system built-in.

Yeah either Virgin cable or Sky but not sure I can have Sky yet so was thinking of V+ settop box. Freeview is integrated to TV (I think eeks). The Dvd (blu-ray) and settop is maybe 2 metres from Plasma :) what do you think?

2m should be ok - I did hear that HDMI cables are a bit length-sensitive, so you better check.

trouble is if i take it up into the ceiling and back down it will be more than 2 metres prob more like 5 metres. the other way is down along the skirting to shorten it arghh lol

I'd check if I were you - I understand that HDMI has a HDCP system which if there any slight timing signals the player will drop to standard definition. I could be wrong here, so if there are HDMI switches etc. that work then I'm talking out of my bum.

Again.
