My PC is pretty new (2 months old - runs on Vista, Firefox and Virgin Cable broadband - and has Norton Internet Security running and up to date). Last week I started getting sound adverts for 'Ebay on my mobile' coming through the speaker at random times even when I wasn't browsing on the net. I'm wasn't running any messenger service like MSN at the time but it keeps happening. Norton says my system is clean so either Doris Stokes has taken up residence in my box or I've caught something. Any suggestions? |

Have you downloaded any freeware software on the machine? A lot of that comes with advertising guff to "fund" the software and a small number of these programs aren't considered Trojans because you agreed to them when you installed the software you wanted in the first place. |
