Mmmm. Up to 75 words. Sailing through my 40's and starting to be aware of the next 'big' birthday. Enjoying life but would appreciate a few more gay shipmates.

I've got a new lcd telly and would like to link it to my hifi. I don't want to get one of those surround sound things because my flat is too wee and my neighbours would probably revolt. So I thought it would be simple to link the tv to the hifi using the traditional audio out/in phono plug thingies. Apparently not. The tv has an output for audio which is called Digital Audio Out (optical) and the guidebook says it's there to link to other devices but there isn't an equivalent input on my hifi. I'm willing to buy a new hifi but I can't find any that have that type of input. |

I've always found the Optical out to be a bit useless, my hifi also has an optical out but nothing I have has an optical in. |
