Yes, it's me again. And it's the time of year where I start topics like this about Swimathon 2008, the world's largest charity swimming event.

This year I'm swimming in memory of Louise Boyle, who was secretary at my university department and became a good friend over the years I studied there.

I'll keep it simple. I swim 1500 metres and raise £1500. But because simple shouldn't mean easy, and I'm now 33, I'll be aiming to complete the challenge in less than 33 minutes. Just to give things that extra edge. I'll be doing it at the Jags Sports Club in Dulwich. Just because it's the nearest to home.

:)

I've posted the link to my fundraising page in my "links" section on my profile, but I'll post the link here too.

Thanks for helping out

Kenneth

I have, with the help of 1 very charitable outer who shall remain nameless, raised over 10% of my target without any effort or advertising at all.

So I thought I'd make the effort and ask you all again.

:)

I will attempt to post an "action pic" of the event on Saturday if I get enough money.

Hi there,

Well, the Swimathon weekend has been and gone. I was at the JAGS sports club in Dulwich.

In the end, I didn't manage to swim the 60 lengths in 33 minutes.

I did manage to swim them in 31 minutes and 12 seconds. Which is probably down to Thomas, my coach for the day. He was about 10 and was very good at shouting my lap times and telling me to go faster, in a bizarre "pushy dad" role - reversal.

So I've managed one part of the challenge, and I'd like your help completing the other part. Click on this link to sponsor me. I can collect money until 27 June.

And here's a pic of me after the race with my medal.

Cheers,

Kenneth
