Just like the weather, prone to wearing shorts when the sun's out but it's freezing, wool jackets in the rain, t-shirts in winter and fleeces when the day looked cloudy. Dating but still able to hold a conversation and old enough to be sensible about it all!

I did some full on bicep curls on Sunday and now I find it difficult to straighten my arms out fully. Should I stretch them out beyond the pain or do I let it ease while they are folded and risk shortening the muscle? |

Try and put your arms behind you back so your fingers meet. Or drawing a semi circle around with arms at shoulder height. |

If you gently extend them til they are straight, gently stretching them, this helps in the repair process. The pain is actually a good thing, and the stretch helps the muscle to recover more quickly. |

Ow! I can just about do that. I find that having my briefcase or something a little heavy in my hands while they hang down seems to offer relief after the inital 'burn' |

You're right (steppin) I did my shoulders on Sunday as well and stretched everywhere but my arms. Serves me right I suppose. It's the muscle as it goes nto the elbow, not the elbow itself. I suppose I've not done a full bicep curl for a while as I've tended to hit it with other exercises... |

yep, thats the lower part of the biceps and it can get the brunt of it sometimes if you do full curls (from a completely dropped position) because those hit the lower end of the muscle. I'd avoid any bicep work for about 4 days and then they should be ok. |
