What about a spiritual weekend retreat in 2007?

Hey all you spiritually minded gay people!

I feel in my heart I would like to do a weekend retreat. Perhaps once a year? We could choose a long weekend, find a location nearby and do some workshops.

I am currently in a place where I need a weekend retreat just to be alone and go and pray and meditate somehwere.

What I feel we need is a location where we could spend the morning doing a teaching session or a workshop, then spend the evening in solitude or in group meditation..I do not think we should cater for any one specific branch only... I follow Golden Dawn meditation techniques. So the meditation Groups could split up. We cater according to the needs.

Those who follow Vedic traditions could then go to a Vedic meditation, those who follow Buddist traditions could then go and do a Buddist meditation. others, like myself who follow Christian or gnostic traditions could gather and do a LBR and a Group Middle Pillar Excercise or something from the Golden Dawn

We could gather somewhere in the countryside if anyone knows of such a location, where accommodation and meals can be provided.

Is there a need for something like this? I would love to hear your comments!

I would like to hear more about your retreat idea. I am interested (that is if you will let us Lesbians in?) I have never been to a retreat, but would like to find out more about your proposal.

Sure. I feel that there is a need for a weekend retreat to do some workshops and meditation/prayers. What do we need?

1) The venue to begin with...
2) the dates - a chosen long weekend
3) suggested topic to discuss/share
4) Split the time so that is not ALL just workshops, but also a time to meditate either in solitude or in groups and sufficient time for us to socialize, build up a network of connections and contacts. etc.
5) Logistics - How much it will cost for accommodation and food, etc

Lesbians are welcome too -

May I add here too that my Sagittarius Nature only sees the Bigger Picture. I am not particularely gifted in working aout and organising the finer details of this where someone who is a Virgo or Capricorn might have excellent organising skills.

I will need all the help I can get. So here is my vision......
Lets make it so......(Number one.....) _ Sounds like Capt Picard in Star Trek - LOL

But yes Sarah, This is what I had in mind.

Some Workshop Topics we could discuss...

In my field of Expertise:
1) The Lesser Banishing Ritual (Theory and then Practical)
2) The Middle Pillar Execise (Theory and then Practical)
3) Discovering the secrets of The Tarot Deck

I know Dirk De Klerk is good regarding Buddist traditions. He could give us a session or 2 on Meditation and then we could do a practical group meditation as well. He is on OUT as well.

If someone else is knowledgable on Vedic we could have a speaker doing a workshop and then a group Meditation too.

This is an idea that was born today. So it is very conceptual. Anyone who can contribute to this vision will be welcome to share what they can contribute and we can put our thoughts together on this and make it work.

I have Mic's Speakers and a KORG keyboard which I can bring with for music if needed....
