For the record, the gay B&B in Moffat as well as Moffat House are both full - but there are many other reputable b&bs in the Moffat.

The Gay Classic Car Group (GCCG) is planning a weekend of events from 9th-12th Sep based around Moffat in Scotland.

Moffat is conveniently located for travelling from elsewhere in Scotland, the south, and from Ireland. The tour starts on Fri evening with an informal meal to recover from the journey. On Sat they will drive into the hills on lonely roads past the lead mining village at Wanlockhead to visit Dumfries House. On the return trip they will visit Drumlanrig Castle, the seat of the Duke of Buccleuch, and line up all the cars in front of one the grandest houses in Scotland. On Sunday, they will head off to the south coast, taking in the romantically named Sweetheart Abbey overlooking the Solway Firth.

Next they will take a meandering road to Kirkcudbright to explore Broughton House and garden - the home and studio of the Scottish Colourist and ‘Glasgow Boy' EA Hornel - with its own art gallery by the firm that first employed Charles Rennie Mackintosh. They will return via Threave House to Bladnoch Distillery for a tour and tasting of their special south of Scotland single malt whisky (nominated passengers only!) The final stop of the day will be to browse the Henry Moore statues at Glenkiln.

Anyone interested in classic cars, or who wants to bring their classic car along to any part of the weekend is welcome and should E-mail: press@gccg.org.uk for more specific information.

The GCCG – the group for gay and lesbian classic car enthusiasts – currently has over 700 members. It organises a varied programme of events each year, allowing gay and lesbian classic car enthusiasts to enjoy their cars and each other's company in an open and friendly environment. While ownership of a classic car is not obligatory, the majority of members do possess at least one classic car. Like their owners, these cars vary in age, condition and performance.

The Group is run by a committee. In addition to its programme of events it produces a quarterly magazine, Big End, a monthly email bulletin, All Torque, and maintains a website, www.gccg.org.uk. The Group also has a number of regional organisers spread across the UK who assist with and host local events and meetings. Internationally, strong links are maintained with sister clubs in France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United States of America, and Australia.
