A topic from Literature: Science Fiction and Fantasy

I have come to the conclusion that I'm the world's least successful individual. I seem unable ever to find satisfactory work, I feel depressed and unable to relate properly to other people and I totally lack self-esteem.

To counter this last problem, I've decided to write a novel. This is largely for my own satisfaction, so getting it published is not of primary importance. I am full of ideas and I'm really imaginative when it comes to stories. However, I'm let down by my lack of understanding of other people. I don't really know how relationships work and I don't mean just lovers' relationships. I would like some advice on how to convey humanity and the ways in which people interact.

I want to be satisfied with my creation and it would feel good if a publisher liked it. As you may guess from the forum I've chosen, most, if not all my ideas are science fiction. I also like the idea of incorporating political sentiments in my writing. I think that novels should be primarily entertaining but there is a place for political statement.

I started writing a book in April, I decided to write about me, I've written 6 chapters already and have decided to highlight my main memories. Of course as I get more up to date the chapters get longer but I'm having a great time writing it. I'm writing it a bit in reverse and have written the last 5 chapters and the first one. I am now well into the second chapter.

I didn't have any plan of action or even plan how to write it, I simply just sat down in front of Word and started banging away at the keyboard. I will have to revist chapters when I'm done as more and more memories resurface but as my introduction says there's too many memories to highlight in the book so I've done my best to record a fair and accurate version of the events.

I've made it totally uncensored and have changed no names. The idea is not to publish but should anything happen to me it is a record for others to know who I was.
