Ok, apart from the obvious Sam/Frodo affair (why is Sam lurking outside of Frodo's window eh in FotR?) does anyone else have any recommendations for when a gay character actually pops up in a mainstream scifi/fantasy story? |

Not really found any (not really been looking either), but the best I did find was several of Isaac Asimov's works where most people are bisexual and it's just treated as an everyday occurrence - there's no drawing attention to the point, the characters just are and it's presented as just part of life. Which I thought was rather good. |

The principle character(s) in "The Last Herald Mage Trilogy" by Mercedes Lackey are gay - Vanyel and Tylendel. |
