Hi. Ive been following some of the running forums recently and though i would start one of my own. The daily grind seems appropriate as i want to start an online dairy of my daily training.
Ive run for many years, running between 80 - 100 miles a week for many years. My best distance wa 100km and in 2001 i was ranked 10th in the UK.
However a loss of form and susequently motivation and enthusiasm followed and i have spent the past few years in the doldrums somewhat, but plan to make a comeback to ultra distance running in 2007.
I have entered the Draycote Water 35 miles in feb, the Connemara 39 miler on april 1st and del passatore 100km between florence and faenza on 26th may.
Hopefully this wont just be one mans training dairy. Hopefully some other runners out there will stumble on my little corner of out and if you want to contribute that would be great.
Hopefully a few people will get some interest from following what it takes to train for races like these and i will get motivation from posting my training.

Pete.

OK. The first day and time for a slight catch up on the week so far.

Monday 1st rest
Tuesday 2nd did 5.25 into work in the early morning and same again inthe afternoon. 10.5 for the day.
Wednesday 3rd. steady 7 in the morning.

Today got myself up at 7 and managed to get myself out running for 08.40. Did my out and back course today. All I do is run out for 57 mins and then turn round and run back the way I came. I make this a 'negative split run'.

Very strong wind and driving rain today. Not pleasant!
