Sane, sorted and switched-on guy, enjoying life in Brighton. I run my own small business, perform as a stand-up comic and sing with a gay choir. I live with my partner (who I met on Out many moons ago) and our dog. I'm as likely to be tending the garden as pounding a dance floor, or to be in a suit as in my leathers. Aren't contradictions wonderful?

OK, I know it's a bit early to start asking about Christmas, but I've got a very particular request...(which I'm posting with Sno's permission!)

As you may know from some of my previous postings, I'm a freelance journalist and I've been commissioned by Gay Times to write a piece about what gay men do for Christmas. The piece will be talking to family and relationship experts about the pressures put on gay men by their families, or the families that they create for themselves (what Anna Madrigal in Tales of the City refers to as your 'logical' family as opposed to your 'biological' family!).

I'm then going to be writing up about 6 or 8 short case studies of the different things gay men do at Christmas, and I'm on the look out for anyone interested in being involved, especially if they do something unusual for Christmas.

Some initial ideas:

• Do you avoid going to see your parents/family because of their (or your) faith, or lack thereof?
• Are you a Christian, in a relationship with someone of another faith who doesn't celebrate Christmas?
• Do you have to leave your partner behind when you go to visit your family, because you're not out to them?
• Or do your (or his) family welcome you as one of the family?
• Do you have children of your own, and celebrate Christmas with them? Or perhaps miss them more than ever over Christmas?
• Do you go out on the gay scene on Christmas day?
• Do you volunteer somewhere on Christmas day?
• Are you a gay priest who has to work incredibly hard on Christmas Day?
• Do you have to work in your regular job on Christmas Day?
• Do you get together with other people on Out on Christmas Day, or do you spend all day logged in to Out, chatting to your friends? It would be great to give Out a plug!
• Perhaps you and your partner or friends just have a very traditional Christmas Day with Turkey, crackers and The Queen?

These are just some initial ideas - what else do gay men get up to on Christmas Day? I'm very open to all sorts of other suggestions if you're up for being interviewed & pictured in the magazine. Either post here or drop me a message if you're interested in getting involved!
