Iam going to Barcelona in 2 weeks time & need some advice on purchasing the right pair of sunglasses for myself.
Where can i go to get impartial advice on selecting the right style for my face.
I don't have the confidence to be sure i can pick the right stye that i would suit.
I feel that by asking staff in an opticians they will probably just
want to sell me their most expensive pair.
Can anyone give me any constructive advice please.
I can spend a reasonable amount on a pair if i can be sure they will suit me & are of good quality, thanks.

Any good optician should be able to give you good advice. You don't have to buy what they show you, but you will get a good idea what you should go for. It might be a good idea to set yourself a limit on what you like to spend on your sunglasses, that will give the optician a good idea what to go for price wise.
Also take a friend with you who can give some input of what looks good on you.

Do they need to be prescription sunglasses, or just 'sunnies'?

No just sunnies as i wear contact lenses.

Yesterday a mate of mine was mulling over two pairs of sunglasses at Primark. £4 a piece, I just told her to buy them both.

That's the beauty of sunglasses these days, they're so cheap you can buy a few pair and wear them how you like.

Myself, I'd not get bogged down with expensive pairs or the advice of opticians (who would definitely get you to buy an expensive pair).

I have bought 2 pairs of Persol sunnnies - v happy. I did some Googling about face shapes which was helpful when choosing glasses - as was the help of a small, independent optician with video technology - they photographed the different frames on my face to compare from an objective view point.

For me, cheap glasses are a waste of money - poor construction, lack of care from the owner - 'they were only cheap' - plus, nice shades are like well made clothes, they feel and look great - I feel fab in either pair of my mafia shades.
