I've just been watching an interesting report on the news about the government offering a £3000 cash incentive for midwives if they return to the NHS.

There was an independant mindwife talking about why she eft the NHS, because of the stress, the fact she was unable to do her job properly due to lack of time, and that patient care was poor due to a lack of staff following cutbacks.

It was also commented that an increase of funding had been used to refurbish a unit, but there was no change on the "shop floor" because standards hadn't changed.

Whilst I appreciate that the vast majority of us will never need the services of a midwife, what do people think about this cash incentive? Is it a good use of public funds or a stupid waste that does not address the real problems?

Couldn't agree more, No wonder the NHS is becoming a big black money hole! Salaries needed to increase I agree, but it seems salaries are getting silly!
