A man of opposites; laid back, sociable when you get to know me, charming, but a little quiet and maybe mysterious at first. Different? Maybe - but it's all part of the charm :0) I will talk to anyone about anything - meaning of life and universe down to trivia. I'm settled in Guildford and love being close to London.

Now i know probably too much has been written about Barack Obama already this week....

but i was just listening again to his victory speech and can't help saying something about it

the very event was always going to be a hugely symbolic moment, whatever he said. But what a wonderful piece of oratory it was, beautifully written, eloquently delivered, completely lacking in triumphalism, and perfectly judged for the moment

Critics might argue that it was lacking in concerte policies, that it was another example of Obama being all style and no content. but this wasn't the time for policies, it was a time for inspiration, and that's eaxctly what he delivered

and the really amzing thing was Obama's absolute calmness. At the centre of all that storm, with all the joy and passion erupting everywhere, how could he stay so calm? he looked like he was born to be President

i hope he retains that reassuring calmness when he gets into the job! But whatever happens, i have a feeling that speech will be remembered for a long time
