When I was nine my father bought me a present of a DIY hot air balloon kit. The balloon was made out of very thick aluminium foil and the source of heat was a special fuel stick that burnt with intense heat, which was funnelled up a ceramic chimney. It was an absolutely brilliant toy until one day the wind caught it and carried it off over Pirbright Ranges. |
