And it was all working so well, then all of a sudden no sound unless I tell the system that my speakers are in fact a pair of headphones. Otherwise nothing. Anyone else had this problem of no sound. |

are you sure you don't have your speakers plugged in the wrong socket? |

I have a Packard Bell where you can plug your speakers into any socket and the PB software will detect the plug-in and ask you what it is, it will then auto configure that port to whatever you want. Always worked on XP. |

I can't imagine that Packard Bell software or Windows would pick up your speakers assuming they plug in with a standard jack plug they wouldn't need drivers or software to run them. |
