My dad has suddenly become politicised at 71

Bloody hell.

My dad has always been quite opinionated about all sorts of stuff, but much more at home tending the garden or fiddling with the car. But since he retired he's becoming more and more politicised and angry. He was a bit dismayed with New Labour, and voted for the current government, but has slowly become absolutely enraged with the current situation and can't hide the disgust he now has for the coalition, who he can't talk about without using the word "bastards"

Now at 71 he has decided to attend his first EVER protest march. The massive 'March For The Alternative' this saturday in London, where all the big protest movements are coming together to protest about the coalition's cuts.

I've never seen him like this before. Talk about a man with a mission, It's given him a whole new lease of life. He's now saying things like "I want to be able to look back and say I was there when the people said no. I stood up and was counted".

I feel quite proud of him actually.

Anyway, I'm gonna go to the march with him to make sure he's alright in case theres any trouble, but it looks like it'll be pretty peaceful. If any other OUTers are there, say Hi :-)
