So this walk called a SlutWalk took place today, the basis being that a Canadian politician said that women should not wear provacative clothing as it might encourage an attack against them.

Their argument is that they should be able to wear what they like as it is their choice and their right to do so without fear of attack and that any advice should be focussed on the attackers, not the potential victims.

But we are also advised to lock our houses up and close the windows when we go out, so as not to encourage burglars. The general message is towards us and not "don't burgle peoples house."

Have we forgotten all about the ten commandments (religeous or not) and the message that they send? Is it easier to say "don't let the bad people hurt us" rather than "don't be a bad person"
