I am in a long-term relationship with someone whom I love and adore.

Hmm, even though no one has yet been named for her disappearance, or arrested, there are still two people responsible for Madeline's disappearance and they'll take that to their graves.

Who? Maddie's parents. I don't accuse them of killing her but I do believe that they are responsible for her disappearance. How? By leaving her un-attended while they went for a meal, a meal in a restaurant at the other end of the apartment complex and completely out of sight of their villa.

All too often, parents leave children un-attended and wonder why they get into trouble or vanish. Why didn't they arrange for a baby sitter or, as there were SEVEN adults in their holiday group, did no one volunteer to baby sit. Or even, probably the most sensible option, why didn't Maddie's parents sacrifice their free time for the safety of their children?

I was lucky, until the age of 14 I was never left alone. Certainly NEVER on holiday in a strange environment. If Maddie's parents had been less selfish, their daughter wouldn't have vanished. This is why I say they are solely to blame for her disappearance.

To be honest I think this issue has been dragged on for far too long about who's exactly responsible. OK yes they did wrong in our eyes but what's done is done now, they have to live with that for a very long time, if not for life perhaps.

Taking this out of the equation for a moment, a part of me does feel sorry for them. It can't be easy for them, I don't know all the facts and I have got to the stage where I just ignore the press now as it's being twisted and twisted again.

leaving the children unattended was a stupid mistake, but it does not make them responsible for someone else abducting maddie. The person who abducted her is responsible for that. they are just guilty of stupidity with tragic consequences.
