It actually does not matter whether it is true or false ... what matters is what people believe ... and want to believe. We are seeing an interesting example here of mass psychosis. I have seen nothing today, so far, that would qualify as evidence that Bin Laden was killed in Pakistan on Sunday ... for all we know, it was a botched raid by US special forces, who then were mistaken (or lied) about the person they took away. On the other hand, everything we hear may be true. But the fact is, we don't know.

The bizarre thing is - and I know that it is hopelessly irrational - but I actually prefer to see some evidence before I suspend my disbelief. Why is it that the entire media corps has swallowed this, hook, line and sinker. Is there something I am missing?
