Ok - I was a bit naughty and I've had this for nearly two weeks but it came out today and I ran out to get my official version in all it's lovely packaging with all the lovely photos and lyrics etc...

What can I say?

It's awesome - like I said, I have known this for sometime, but as today is the release date it seems fitting to start this thread today.

I'm biased - I have never disliked a single Tori song or album ever - but I have to say that this album is a complete gem. Those of you that didn't find the beauty in Scarlet's Walk, or The Beekeeper, who prefer her more aggressive stuff will just love this album.

It's almost a complete homage to the 70's, with hints of glam rock nestling beside harder edgier crashing guitars which have been woven delicately with a thread of 70's inspired folk.

The piano is there, as always, underpinning the whole album, giving it a solid foundation on which stands an impressive 80 minutes of flawless music.

I could give a more detailed review track by track, but I would be here all night!

The woman is a living genius, I'll be bouncing off clouds for months with this one...

:o)

I've been acquainting myself with Tori's latest... loving the mix of sounds... at 23 tracks its difficult to get my head around it on a first play, but its got an incredibly rich, varied sound which is way way edgier than the Beekeeper. Its far more than an album with the five characters singing from different perspectives, and their stories unfolding across the web- go to wikipedia to find links to their blogs. Its also got a dark, playful humour... already feels like a return to form after the sporadic, patchy Beekeeper album.
