I appologise, this is an explanation of why I wanted to start topic on religion in my topic that I posted last night; there have been around 50 replies to it, however, I wanted to expand on this anyway this evening...:Well it seems to have got a good responce, but please excuse me, as I have never started a topic of my own before, hence this one not being in the mind, body and spiritual place it may deserve.

I have recently had experience concerning religion and have been personally involved with a guy who was/is, so religious, and I say extremely religious, that he would feel guilty even for spending time with me. He would explain the physical side was a sin andf not allowed rush though the physical side, not that that is very important in my view as there are much more things to a relationship than sex.

Anyway, after 3 months of being my b/f, which he insisted on thre label he announced he was/used to be an 'evbangelican christian' and has been taught that homosexual relationships are wrong and sinful! This would be very damaging to us as partners and the way he has been taught- and I use taught as he entered into the religion at 15- therefore not through own experience, it was a 'taught' subject/ phenonenan. Anyway, the religion itself has been that damaging it has destroyed his relationship with other people who not fit inot the tiny worship or even the 'normal' way of life god is supposed to represent!

We didn't want to break up, but we had to as our mental health by theat point 5 months later was making us both ill.. He still insists to ths day that homosexual relationships are wrong, and god's way is the only way, to the point if people sacrifise a relationship for the rest of their life, they will spend eternity in heaven with his god.-- Now someone tell me that religion isn't damaging!
