I'm just gearing myself up to have a stupid conversation with O2.

I changed over to Orange in May but I'm still recieving Rewards message from O2. In fact the day that my number was switched over, O2 rang me to see if I wanted to change providers as they had no idea I'd just moved from them.

So now I have to explain the whole thing to customer services who may not even talk to me as I'm not a customer!

They want the SIM number from the back of the O2 SIM, which of course I just happen to have memorised - NOT! Or have kept - it's totally useless as I transfered the number over so if effectively blank.

I deal with large and useless companies in the following way:

1. Phone up and ask for what I want.
2. When they don't do as promised, phone the call centre again, making plain they already promised whatever it was and please would the do it this time.
3. When it still doesn't happen, phone again and say something like "I mean you no disrespect, but please can I speak to your manager?". I don't accept "no" and I don't accept the person I am speaking to offering to deal with my problem. I take the matter up with the manager and get their name and direct dial contact number.
4. If that still doesn't work after a reasonable amount of time I find out who the CEO is and write to him/her.

At all stages I make a note of who I spoke to, the date, the time and what was agreed.

Good luck.

quoting > ""I mean you no disrespect, but please can I speak to your manager?". I don't accept "no""

Best way to not accept "no" when the person you're on the phone to says that there are no managers available is to ask them to stand up with their hand in the air, then someone more senior will know they're on a "difficult" or "escalated" call, and come to their aid. Ask the person to do this, then speak to that person.

And yes, I can write a great complaint letter ;o)

Amazingly I got a different person and they "found" the number on their system - all sorted - thanks guys.

Wasn't looking forward to that at all
