Well.. for me it was a shock..

Picture this.. came back from holiday a couple of weeks ago, use my mobile phone to download news and video podcasts. I use the mobile to download the news but video podcasts are only done by wifi. Unfortunatley something must have happened one day that forced it to go over my mobile data.

I'm on virgin mobile and I pay 10 quid a month for 300 minutes and 300 texts, data rate is 30p a day up to 25MB. Typically this comes to around 19.60 a month for me as I never go over my 25MB day limit.

On that one day whilst in this country it used the mobile data to download around 110MB, no warning message was sent just the bill which has come to £256!

I contacted virgin mobile and told them I never go over my limit and could they wipe it out as an error and explained that I wasn't sent any warning. They told me as a good will gesture they would reduce it by a 1/3 approx £80 which is their profit margin.

Any recommendations on how to deal with this? Do I agree to pay the final or is it worth contesting this and pushing for further reductions?
