I looked out the garden and some kids had set alight some dried grasses just outside the fence, so I grabbed the hose and put it out; only to discover they set alight a field just near to a centre for people with Special Needs; I was about to call for a Fire appliance to come and put it out when someone must have beat me to it. The field which is becoming quite a haven for wildlife is now pockmarked with black areas where fires have been. |
