It's natural for men to have facial hair but most of us choose to shave. To those of you who choose to have beards and moustaches, why did you do that, and at what age?

I was on a 3 week holiday in Corfu with a pal, who I noticed was looking a bit scruffy after a few days. He said he was growing a beard, to which I scoffed "I can do better than that. " I could, and never shaved it off since. That was nearly 40 years ago, I was 34.

I was in the Merchant Navy and was only allowed a beard when I as senior enough. Made the grade and grew some fuzz...that was about 20 years ago and I've had it almost continuously ever since.

Had a moustache continuously since I was 17/18, and had a beard for nearly 20 years too somewhere in between.

I like the look of clean-shaven men if they're handsome but for me personally it's not right. And most men are improved by moustaches.
