I'm told i have mad scientist hair and I like dancing, climbing mountains, going to gigs and sitting in bars talking to my friends. I think physics is cool but apart from that i'm not that weird. I've recently moved to Vauxhall and am enjoying the London lifestyle

Here's a little story from Glastonbury this weekend….

There's a place at Glastonbury called Arcadia, which is one of the most surreal places you'll ever see. It's a massive dance arena dominated by this huge metal spider, maybe 60 foot high which belches fire and electricity.

I went there on Saturday night and (luckily) managed to get onto the stage, which is a narrow affair running around the middle of the spider. There were perhaps 200 people dancing on the stage, and maybe 5000 people dancing round it, with the DJs (Orbital in this case) on a platform about 10 foot above me, acrobats hanging in the air, and these huge flames blasting out, and big streaks of lightning. It's a pretty intense place to be.

So anyway there I was dancing away when I noticed this totally gorgeous guy in the crowd right below me (and there are a lot of gorgeous guys there). He was early 20s, slim, short dark hair, with that little bit of stubble that everyone develops at festivals. He looks at me, and then a little later he manages to scramble up onto the stage next to me, and for the next 3 hours or more we danced together non-stop. He is a great dancer and he just seems to want to dance with me. We talk a little, he has a soft Scottish accent, though its hard to talk against the noise which is huge.

At the end we hug, and then we go off our separate ways. So there is no exciting ending.....

Part of me regrets not trying to get him to stay around and see what happens, part of me thinks that maybe that was the best way to end it. I didn't find out his name, don't know whether he was gay or straight, though I suspect the former, but what mattered was that for that time, for those 3 hours, I danced with the most beautiful guy in the world, and he danced with me, and we both loved it!

So anyway that's the story, just one of those random things which I'll always remember. I just wanted to share :-)
