I am off to Brum this Friday for the weekend staying in the city centre. I've not been up to Hurst Street for nearly 4 years and was wondering how things have changes and any recommendations on where to go.

Plus if there is anyone that wants to meet up either Friday or Saturday night then let me know. Ta!

Here's a run down on Birmingham in Alphabetical order.

Angels - Quite trendy with house music, young crowd, but can tend to be on the quiet side.

Boltz - The new Boots/Rebellion, very kinky with slings, dark rooms and a wet area.

Club DV8 - One of Birminghams major clubs, it's between £10 and £12 entry, but that does include all your drinks until 2 am.

Equator - A Small Bar next door to Angels, tends to be very busy on a Saturday nice, with a mixed crowd

Fountain - Not as cruisy as it used to be, due to recent licensing issues, but is getting the cruise atmosphere back, tends to be bears and skins and an older crowd.

Fox - Birminghams premier lesbian bar, always tends to be very busy.

Glamourous - One of Birminghams most camp bars, Cabaret at 11pm on a Saturday

Loft Lounge - Birminghams' newest gay bar, quite upmarket with it's own cocktail menu. Always crowded.

Missing - Gone downhill in recent years, not been in for a while but used to be full of very young and very old, no inbetween

Nightingale - Birminghams' Biggest gay club with 3 floors, this Saturday sees Nikki from X factor performing plus outhere brothers.

Pink Planet - Birminghams newest lesbian bar, never seen more than 2 people in on any night.

Route - A cross between a gay bar and club, tends to be on the quiet side during the weekend, but packs them in on a Monday night for Pink Pounder.

Village - If you used to like Missing, you'll like this place. Basically always very busy, and has DJ party night on Saturdays.

Wellington Hotel - Birminghams friendliest gay bar, bit out of the way so can tend to be on the quiet side, but this Saturday sees a jackpot of £370 on Play your cards right plus karaoke. Also has cabaret every other week.

White Swan - Right down the bottom of Hurst Street, hit or miss with this place on the crowd and the night.
