I would love to live by the coast again, but my family and friends with whom I am very close are around here. Plus I'd miss the diversity of people and the whole 'bright light city' feel on nights out.

Add that to a regular transport service and the variety of venues with the opportunity of meeting lots of new people.

I think I'll be moving away later in life, however.

I might consider Zone 4, now that I am getting too old for Soho on a schoolnight.

I think I could happily live in the country.

After 15 years in London, I boxed up my life and the lover and we bought a great place on the South Coast.

Originally the new place was supposed to be a weekend house as we both had busy careers and lived in London Bridge.

But we began spending more and more time at the coast and late last year I throw in my notice and left at Xmas for a whole new chapter. The lover is happy to commute but I have left completely and although nervous at first, it has been the best choice for me.

Never thought I could live without being part of London, boy was I wrong !

I lived in central London for 3 years, then i spent almost 20 years living in the country. I got bored of that in the end (and looking back on it i'm not sure how i lasted so long in the country), and now i live in Guildford, which is a kind of halfway house between London & the country. Having tried both, there are pros and cons of each, but on the whole give me the bright lights of London rather than the peace & quiet of the country
