In 2009/10, 3,673 people were living on the capital's streets compared with 3,975 in 2010/11, a rise of 8%, according to the charity Broadway. The Mayor of London's housing advisor repeated a pledge made in 2008 to end rough sleeping in London by the end of next year. The charity said that despite the increase progress was being made. London has the highest rate of homelessness in England, according to the charity." http://1sq.me/jOKssj Fortunately, he's given himself until after the Mayoral Election before his promise runs out.

chutzpahMon 20/06/11 14:03		Whilst his timing stinks, in all fairness I'm not convinced this is Bojo's fault. We're in a recession, and in a recession homelessness rises due to lost jobs, evictions and repossessions etc. The charity does report progress is being made - I suspect the problem is that the progress isn't capable of keeping up with the worsening situation.....
